Wi-Fi war by search engine companies

1 komentar
On upcoming holiday season, Google, Yahoo and Microsoft as the owner of most leading search engines try to attract internet user to use their service. The way is offering free Wi-Fi access in some areas in US.

Microsoft is the first to break out this idea in last September. This biggest software vendor started offer up this service in some places in United States where internet user can freely browse the internet if they use Bing to search over the internet at least once.

Then, Google starts that service on November 11 in 47 airports in the US cities include Las Vegas, Boston, Burbank, Indianapolis, Miami, Orlando, Charlotte, San Jose, Baltimore, Houston, Seattle, Ft. Lauderdale, and St. Louis in corporate with Boingo Wireless. The free Wi-Fi will continue to serve air travelers until January 15 except in Burbank and Seattle, where the free Wi-Fi will be there forever, if Google can help it.

Free Google Wi-Fi is also available for Virgin America Airways passengers and all the free Wi-Fi by Google will be available until January 15, 2010.

Meanwhile, Yahoo also launched the free Wi-Fi service on the same date as Google and now available only on Time Square, New York City, but it would be forever service from Yahoo. Hopefully, these three giant of internet companies will consider offer their free Wi-Fi service to other countries which have significant internet user, not only in US.

Some advertisements spread up in the internet offering a great way to earn money in a quick way. They always say that this is a WAH job or Work At Home job. Some people then think about how easy work in the internet, just stay at home then money flow to your pocket like a water. Some advertisements also offer you a great way to earn money through affiliation where you got a commission from something you sell.

Every kinds of business even real or online is always there a risk and asset to start and always there a risk to lose your capital. Some leading internet companies always use real economic strategy to compete the others. As an example, Yahoo Inc, as one of the most leading internet company, spent 100 million dollars for advertising.

For us that start building an online business in a small scale, we can see the way of the leading company. Some bloggers build an optimized blog in search engine to get high page rank and traffic to establish their blogs due to incur a chance of income. If your blog is well cared, it can be a big chance to earn money from your blog.

Let illustrate that we have one blog with at least page rank 3, for a month you can earn money from paid review online business for about 100 to 200 dollars, from selling the link let say you got 25 to 50 dollars, so a month you earn for 125 to 250 dollars. What about if you have at least 5 to 10 blogs with minimum page rank 3 each. How much you can earn?

So, for you who have already a blog, just start to care due to monetize your blog. Better quality in content and update it regularly will raise your rank up in search engine and Google as a Page rank owner. So better in rank will raise your chance to earn money from your own blog. Keep blogging and keep earning from your blog.

40 years Internet anniversary

2 komentar
Some of us may be missing that on October 29 is an anniversary of Internet. Internet was found by Leonard Kleinrock 40 years ago and I think he was never thinking that his finding will grow very fast in years. He also never thinks that 40 year later some internet companies such as Google, Yahoo, You Tube, Twitter, or Facebook will dominate the traffic in the internet today.

According to the study done by Arbor Networks and the University of Michigan, there are 30 huge internet companies in 2009 and dominate the traffic in the internet. Research for two years analyzing more than 256 exabytes of data traffic on the 110 cable operators, transit backbones, regional networks and content providers around the world, and get that 30 "giant hyper" responsible for 30 percent of traffic on the Internet.

Back to the history of internet finding, On October 29, 1969, Kleinrock led a team which can make a computer "talk" with others in the research section. Kleinrock driven by the belief that computers are designed to be able to talk to one another to produce a simple network, such as the use of the phone. From the picture above, Leonard Kleinrock, a computer scientist, shows the first device to connect computers in a network, which later became forerunners of the Internet. Kleinrock worked at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), USA. Photos provided Kleinrock, but the location of capture date is not mentioned.

Key in the exchange of data between one computer and another computer is to solve the digital code and make it as separate packages. The first internet was named as ARPANET and used for military. Experiment fails to connect initially ARPANET. Kleinrock team tries to send data between computers on the ARPANET and successful. A total of two computers at two other universities are also connected at the end of 1969. This is the initial impression of the growing Internet.

Now, we are still seeing the developing of internet day by day, and I think nobody can guess what will happen in the internet for years due to technology now is also integrated with internet as well.

iPhone killer’s gonna be launched

Motorola is now building a new QWERTY pad phone and claim it as an iPhone competitor. This gadget which named Motorola Droid is a slimmest full-QWERTY slider phone on the market, measuring 4.6 by 2.4 by 0.5 inches—almost precisely the same size as the iPhone, if a few hundredths of an inch thicker—the 3G- and Wi-Fi-enabled Droid makes for one of the thinnest, sleekest QWERTY sliders.

With 3.7” display and 480 by 854 pixels makes it about two-tenths of an inch bigger than the iPhone's display. Measuring 4.6 by 2.4 by 0.5 inches—almost precisely the same size as the iPhone, if a few hundredths of an inch thicker—the 3G- and Wi-Fi-enabled Droid makes for one of the thinnest, sleekest QWERTY sliders. This gadget is also powered by Google Android OS which is to be the first phone to run version 2.0 of Android. This Android version includes full-on support for corporate Exchange e-mail accounts, Facebook integration (meaning that the phone will draw contact information from your Facebook pals into your address book), new Google Maps features (like layers for satellite view, traffic, ATMs, and restaurants, as well as turn-by-turn directions; more on that in a moment), and a more polished-looking interface overall.

Motorola Droid Vs iPhone

Same as Blackberry, with Android make an address book integrated to your facebook or twitter contacts. So if there any contact on your Facebook or other social network sites, it is going to be added to your phone book automatically. Move on, as quoted from yahoo TECH, the new and improved Google Maps, now with GPS-aided turn-by-turn navigation, new for Android 2.0 and appearing first here on the Droid. It's a free, voice-activated service that looks a lot like other GPS navigation apps on the market, complete with a first-person perspective view, big arrows that tell you where to turn next, spoken directions, and the ability to automatically re-route you if you make a wrong turn.

For you who loves photographing or capture all the moments anywhere, this Droid is also powered by 5-MegaPixel camera with a dual LED flash and auto-focus/image stabilization capabilities. Till today, I have not got approximate price for Asia market including the time to be launched in Asia. With all the completeness, what do you think then??? Can Droid kill iPhone domination?

How to submit blog Url on Yahoo

7 komentar
As on Google, if we want our blog or site to be crawled by Yahoo, we have to submit our site url to yahoo. The way is still same as Google, we are going to get a meta tag called as Y-Key. How to get that Y Key? Hereby, I try to explain more about it.
Before you can reach Yahoo Site Explorer to submit your Url’s blog, of course you need to sign in first. If you hard to find Yahoo Site Explorer, just click this link, and then just submit your site as shown by picture below. Next step don’t forget to click “Add My Site” button.

After that you will find the next window as shown at picture below to authenticate your site.
Then, you will get your Meta tag or Y-key to be put on your template. Just copy the code and paste after code <head> and before code <b: skin=""><!--[CDATA[/* in your template then save your template.

Well, after adding the Meta tag in your site, go back to your Yahoo Site explorer and click “Ready to Authenticate” button.

Is that all? Nope, because we still have next step due to your blog or site be crawled by Yahoo. You still need to submit your blog Url and these are two steps to do:

1. Go back to your Yahoo Site Explorer page and check the radio button then click “Manage” button as shown at the picture below.

2. Type rss.xml or atom.xml in the box available as shown at picture. This will help Yahoo to crawl your site/blog via your feeds as soon as your site updated.

All the steps have finished and as my experience before, my blog needed at least 3 weeks to be crawled by Yahoo. Too long to be crawled, but if your blog has been crawled, it could be a good option for your SEO.
