After launching of Bluetooth version 3.0 last year, the next Bluetooth 4.0 will be revealing in next 4th quarter of this year. The devices which launched after 4th quarter of this year will be embedded by this new technology.Where the previous version needs t lease a AAA or larger capacity battery to function, this latest version just need the lower specification of power energy to run which is coin-cell batteries. It means that this Bluetooth 4.0 will save more energy than the previous one.
Interestingly, Bluetooth 4.0 is claimed that it can carry the high-speed Wi-Fi feature and allows devices to jump onto Wi-Fi 802.11 networks, where it can transfer data at up to 25Mbits per second. With those new great capabilities, hopefully it can be better solution for the energy saving devices in the future.
