5 komentar
Liliputing just tried to make a NorhTech Gecko edubook to be tested to run with AA batteries. This netbook designed for educational purpose with powerful great features which can run on both Linux and Windows platform. Most interesting from this netbook where the purpose is for education, you can replace the CPU easily to learn it. Either the RAM which in modular type means you can easily replace or upgrade it into your RAM size choice. All can be replaced without replace the entire computer.

After play it with NiMH AA batteries, the result can you see at the demo video below. Even though have less time of battery life compared to Li-ion battery, this netbook shows us its performance as a great education netbook. But do not expect more to use it for speed because this netbook is not designed to be fast but comfort, durable and cost less. It is fit to use as educational purpose in developing countries.

Playstation 4 with no buit-up Cell processor

0 komentar
Sony plans to launch Playstation 4 in 2010 and this rumor has also spread in some game addicted talk. Even though there is no detail information from Sony about the time of launching, but no doubt that 2010 will be the year of PS4 to hit the world. Now, this new game console is still in concept process, however, it needs at least 2 years for a console to go from concept into production.

Latest news from Sony about this new game console is about this console’s Cell. Sony used PowerPC-base Core for Playstation 3 and now Sony plans to move forwards to a traditional PC multi-core processor. This may because of the difficulties gotten by third party to design a right Cell processor for Playstation 4.

It might be Intel Larrabee or other Cell processors but no detail yet about the developer and the Cell processor for Playstation 4. With the plan to have a new processor, it may be an advantage for developers to be apart of Playstation 4. It is also being good news when Sony can be more developer-friendly by involving a third party to design the Cell processor in the future.

How to go ahead from the long truck?

0 komentar
Best technology is never always started by a complex idea; the fresh simple idea would be a great technology concept to adapt to our life too. This is just an example. The concept was thought by Art Labedev which has already made dozens of great simple idea in technology for life.

This new concept is adopted when we drive behind a long truck and sometimes feel hard to see the front of the truck. It will slow us to go ahead when the truck is too long and we cannot see anything in front of the truck. The concept is only embedding a camera in front of the truck then relay it to the rear LCD screen.

Art Labedev - gadget and tech journal, zujoe.com

The entire concept must be realistic to build when we talk about the cost to make it true. Using a wide LCD screen, I think it’s not fully great idea when a fragile LCD screen is embedded at the rear of the truck. The loading and unloading process will be done at the rear of the truck and it would damage the system. So, it needs a stronger material of the screen to adapt it to the truck. Anyway, it’s still a great idea to make it true someday.

New wireless connection platform is now to be adapted in Scandinavia and make this country to be the first that adapts an LTE (Long Term Evolution) cellphone network. This new technology will be switched on in Oslo and Stockholm, Norway, by TeliaSonera which plans to roll out nationwide 4G across Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Only a Samsung Kalmia modem USB dongle (Model GT-B3710) that capable to receive the 4G bandwidth of LTE, but handsets are planned for the New Year. 4G connection theoretically has a download speed up to 10 times of 3G connection, or 100Mbps, though realistically it would only be a fraction of that (still way better than 3G).
